Al Harris Library Circulation: Claims Returned

Citing Sources

If you receive a lost book or overdue notice for library materials you believe have been returned to the library, contact the Circulation Desk either in person or by phone at (580)774-3730. The Circulation Desk will fill out a Claims Returned Form for your materials.

The item(s) on your account will be designated as "claims returned." This suspends the accrual of fines. Circulation staff will search for the item(s) for a period of 60 days. During this time you should double check your home, car, etc. for the item(s).

If the item(s) are not found after 60 days, you will be responsible for replacement the cost of the item(s). If the item is found in the library, the item will be discharged from your account and all fines will be forgiven. If you find the item and return it to the library you will be responsible for all fines accrued up to the point the item was designated as "claims returned."

If you have three or more "claims returned" items on your library account, your borrowing privileges may be suspended.

Return receipts for library materials are available on request. We can only give receipts for library materials returned to the Circulation Desk.
