Use the resources below for information about chemical names, structures, and properties. These resources can be searched by chemical name, CAS Registry Number, molecular formula or weight, InChIKey, or by structure.

    A chemistry and biology index to nearly 2 million compounds. Entries typically include links to additional information from other websites. (Free registration required.)
  • ChemIDplus
    Detailed information on over 400,000 chemicals, including links to relevant journal citations in TOXLINE and PubMed MEDLINE.
  • ChemSpider
    A chemical structure database providing fast access to over 34 million structures, properties, and associated information. (Also see SyntheticPages for chemical reactions.)

CQ Researcher is a resource for in-depth analytical reports on current and controversial issues. Each report gives the reader a broad overview of the issue, including the historical background and a discussion of current controversies and initiatives.

Glassdoor provides a growing database with millions of company reviews, CEO approval ratings, salary reports, interview reviews and questions, office photos and more. This information is shared by employees of the companies profiled in the Glassdoor database. Users may also browse job listings and use Glassdoor to facilitate connections with employers and employees using Facebook.

Hoover's provides comprehensive company profiles containing company overviews and histories, including some coverage of private companies. Use Hoover'sto find product/brand name listings, competitors, officer names and salaries, product segmentation data, subsidiaries, and financial data, including access to annual reports and SEC filings.

InCites

Use InCites both to compare journals and scientific publications and to evaluate researcher and institution productivity.

  • InCites Essential Science Indicators provides data for ranking scientists, institutions, countries, and journals based on publication counts and citation data.
  • InCites Journal Citation Reports is a tool for evaluating and comparing journals using citation data. Journal Citation Reports is the only source of citation data on journals, and includes virtually all specialties in the areas of science, technology, and social sciences.

Impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year.

Points of View Reference Center is a full-text database that provides essays presenting multiple sides of a current issue. Each topic has an overview, point/counterpoint argument, and a Critical Thinking Guide.
