Eligibility
All current SWOSU students and employees are eligible to borrow materials from the Al Harris Library.
Public patrons are persons who are unaffiliated with SWOSU and age 18 or older. Public patrons may obtain a public borrower's permit at the Circulation Desk by presenting a valid Oklahoma driver's license or other valid Oklahoma photo identification. Unaffiliated borrowers must live with a 20 mile radius of the Al Harris Library.
SWOSU alumni have the same borrowing privileges as public patrons.
Emeriti patrons are retired SWOSU faculty. Emeriti faculty have the same borrowing privileges as current SWOSU employees. Click here for more information about SWOSU emeriti's library privileges.
OK-Share patrons are faculty, staff, and students from OK-Share member institutions. OK-Share patrons may borrow materials from the SWOSU Library with an OK-Share courtesy card. For more information about OK-Share and a directory of OK-Share member institutions, see the OK-Share page.
Call the library at (580)774-3730 if you have questions about your borrowing privileges.

Overdue Notices
Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy to your campus, home, or email address. You are responsible for all library fees and fines on your account, regardless of whether or not you receive an overdue notice. Return overdue materials promptly to avoid a suspension of your borrowing privileges.
You are responsible for notifying the library when your address changes. Call the Circulation Desk at (580)774-3730 to update your library account.
Holds for Excess Charges
If your charges exceed $9.00 a hold is placed on your SWOSU Registrar account. Checking out library materials, class registration, transcript requests, etc. are blocked until the fine is resolved.
Claims Returned Policy
If you receive a lost item notice or overdue notice for library materials you believe have been returned to the library see our Claims Returned Policy.
Faculty Proxy Form
If you are a SWOSU faculty member, fill out the Faculty Proxy Form (PDF) to permit a designated SWOSU student or employee to charge library materials to your account.
Reserves
Information for faculty who wish to place materials on Reserve is available here.
